-Ventajas y desventajas de la invención planteada.
La redacción de la patente involucra también la redacción del pliego de reivindicaciones de manera clara y concisa.
Las reivindicaciones permiten al solicitante cubrir la invención de manera precisa, los aspectos técnicos que abarca el invento. Las reivindicaciones deben ser lo suficientemente amplia para abarcar la mayor parte de los aspectos de la idea del invento, pero no demasiado amplia que no permita cubrir aspectos distintivos de la invención respecto al estado del arte.
Un pliego demasiado amplio puede ser rechazado por estar cubierto por el estado del arte, o por otra parte un pliego con demasiadas especificaciones, limitara mucho los alcances de la invención innecesariamente, reduciendo su valor comercial.
